Mr Dunlop

Mr Dunlop was appointed as a Consultant in 2001.

He qualified from Birmingham Medical School in 1989. His basic surgical training was completed in Manchester and the North West. At this stage he had an interest in the treatment of trauma as well as abdominal surgery. His interest in joint replacement surgery developed through his higher surgical training in Orthopaedics in the West Midlands, and a specialist Fellowship in Vancouver.

Initially Mr Dunlop’s practice was split between knee and hip surgery, however since 2011 he has concentrated on hip surgery only. He is predominantly an Arthroplasty surgeon and performs hip replacements, resurfacings and revisions. He does not perform hip arthroscopy or osteotomy surgery.

He has been actively involved with the National Joint Registry (NJR) since it was established in 2003 and is currently the NJR Regional Clinical coordinator for the West Midlands. Mr Dunlop is a Reviewer for The Bone and Joint Journal, the leading UK academic orthopaedic journal. He is a member of the British Hip Society as well as the British Orthopaedic Association.
