Mr Marks was appointed as Consulting Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1995 and was awarded a British Orthopaedic Society Wishbone travelling scholarship that year.
He was also made an Honorary Senior Lecturer to The University of Birmingham. He has been an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society, initially as a corresponding fellow, then as an active fellow (sitting on and chairing a number of the society’s committees).
Mr Marks practice is now mainly in the area of spinal deformity, with the focus being on paediatric and Early Onset Scoliosis in particular. He has been co-designer for two paediatric non-fusion systems, and remains actively involved in implant design.
He continues to be strongly committed to education and teaching and hosts national and international surgeons to visit him in Birmingham.
